Peace is the Path-- Ahimsa

–peace is the path—

No society has ever been perfect at any given time in history.
But in the midst of all the negative forces there are always
some ordinary people who incessantly strive in their own way
to attain higher aspirations.
These aspirations are often reflected in the literary
and artistic creations of that period.
Once in a while this collective effort manifests itself in a spurt
that temporarily lifts that society to unprecedented heights.
Such a spurt occurs may be once in a thousand years
but it leaves a lasting influence on mankind, continouusly inspiring
and encouraging millions of sensitive minds.

This short expostion is an attempt to trace the development
of the ideal of non-violence in this society, of which

we are an integral part.
