The Message for Bhagwat Gita

Krishna Giving the message of Gita on the battlefield

The Bhagavad Gita has been a main guiding force of the people of India. Recited in the midst of a battle field, Krishna instructs Arjuna about the duty of an individual.

But at the same time one should not run away from the battle field whenever he is called upon to fight for Truth.

Gandhiji derived his inspiration primarily from the Bhagvad Gita. "The message of the Gita is to be found in the second chapter of the Gita where Krishna speaks of the balanced state of mind of mental equipoise. In nineteen verses at the end of the second chapter of the Gita Krishna explains how this state can be achieved. It can be achieved, he tells us, after killing all your passions. .......The whole thing is described in language of beauty that is unsurpassed."
